I’ve been dreaming of self-hosting for quite a while and in this summer of 2026 this dream eventually became true. I’ve collected resources - that is I’ve received a generous gift to serve as my small homelab and then I’ve also been putting aside bits of time to use for getting started.

Things seldom go as planned. My laptop lost it’s ability to display anything right after I proudly installed void linux without any systemd on it. That decided some things and now that laptop gets to serve as a small home server instead. But that laptop was also a generous gift, so at least some things remain true in this story.

So what’s gonna be on this blog then?
Blog is a timeline of sorts, so time will tell, I guess…
